What to know before you buy.

A tipper trailer earns its keep on busy sites. Hydraulic tipping, heavy-duty drop sides and a chassis built to take a hammering - the difference between a good tipper and a cheap one is the metalwork you don't see. Every tipper we sell is specced to handle daily UK site work and backed by a two-year warranty.

What to look for

  • Hot-dip galvanised chassis - not just paint
  • Heavy-duty ram tipping with a sealed pump
  • Drop sides that lock square after a thousand cycles
  • LED lighting, sealed harness, ALKO or Knott-Avonride running gear
  • Real payload after the trailer's own weight - check the plate

  • How much does a tipper trailer cost?
    A new single-axle tipper typically starts around £3,000+VAT. A twin-axle 8x5 with mesh sides and ramps usually lands £4,500-£6,500+VAT depending on spec. We will always quote you on a like-for-like spec - call us before you commit.
  • What size tipper trailer do I need?
    For domestic and small-trade use, a single-axle 7x4 or 8x4 tipper covers most jobs. For full-time site work, a twin-axle 8x5 or 10x5 is the standard. Tell us what you carry and the most common load weight - we will spec it from there.
  • Do I need a special licence to tow a tipper?
    If you passed your test after 1 January 1997, you can now tow trailers up to 3,500kg gross combined weight on a category B licence (this changed in late 2021). For heavier outfits or commercial work, check the trailer plate carefully and consider B+E or C1+E.
  • Do you deliver tipper trailers nationwide?
    Yes. Most of our customers collect, but we deliver across the UK. Delivery is quoted per mile - typically £1.50-£2.00 per loaded mile.
  • What warranty comes with a new tipper?
    Two years on the chassis, body and hydraulics, and 12 months on bearings, lights and tyres. We service it ourselves - you call one number.
